Mikumi Safari is a short safari ideal for travelers from Dar es Salaam, Dodoma and Morogoro town.
Geographically Mikumi flood plain, with its open grasslands and other unique amazing fauna and flora, dominates the park together with the mountain ranges that border the park on two sides.
When doing driving nearby or within the park Lions are commonly seen and wild dogs. Elephant may be encountered and other animals frequently observed are buffalo, civet, eland, giraffe, impala, kudu, reedbuck, warthog, waterbuck, wildebeest, zebra.
Mikumi Safari tinerary: 3 Days & 2 Nights
Day 1: Dar es Salaam– Mikumi National Park
In the morning at 0830hrs pick up from your hotel/lodge/airport and travel to Mikumi National Park where you will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch proceed with afternoon game drives in the park a home to Elephant, Lion, Wild dog, Zebras, Hyena, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Eland, Hartebeest, Crocodile, Lizard and other residents. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park. You will have dinner and overnight at motel/tented camp
Day 2: Full day in Mikumi National Park
Breakfast followed by both morning and afternoon game drives in Mikumi National Park. You will have all meals in your accommodation.
Day 3: Mikumi – Dar es Salaam
Wake up at 0600hrs for early Sunrise game drives in Mikumi, then at 0845hrs drive back to the lodge or camp for breakfast. After breakfast check out and drive while sporting game enroute back to Dar es Salaam where you will arrive in the early afternoon.
